ThermoRenew: Equipping Vocational Students with Thermohydraulic Skills for Renewable Energy

Project details

Project fund will be allocated towards repair and renovation tasks of the workshop building. This includes the restoration of the damaged waterproofing layer on the roof, the installation of a central heating, cooling, and ventilation system, the enhancement of sanitary and teachers’ facilities, and the updating of the electrical and lighting system to accommodate the new equipment; installing an elevator required for the inclusion of handicapped person. In addition, the renovation process will involve adapting the space to suit the placement and usage of new equipment. Also replacement and upgrading of the equipment in the workshop for Sanitary installation technology and for new and upgrading of equipment for the workshop for Water & Wastewater, Pumps, Heater.
With this the school will also teach and promote the actual Heath Pump Technology which is replacing the fossil fuels in whole Europe.
Costs of project will cover the training of teachers for the use and
maintenance of new equipment as well as for didactic aspects of the use and efficiency of the environment and equipment. Teaching materials directly related to the use of new tools and equipment
will also be translated and adapted to the local context.

The plumbing and thermo-hydraulics sectors stand out as significant collaborators in this endeavor. Renowned businesses in this sector, such as HIDRO-TECH DERVISHAJ LLC and HIDROSEVEN LLC, are not only providing students with hands-on experience but also contributing to their understanding of the industry’s dynamics. These businesses, with their diverse activities ranging from commercial activity in hydraulic materials to the provision of various hydraulic and electrical services, offer students a broad spectrum of learning opportunities. This synergy between technical education and industry is fostering a conducive learning environment that provides new and strengthen students in their practical skills, gives industry insights, and a competitive edge in the thermo-hydraulics sector. The school has a dedicated person to follow the completion of the internship. Despite the very good cooperation so far, it is necessary to improve the skills of the business mentors and of the school for a better evaluation of the students for internships in business. The enterprises fully cover the cost of the students’ insurance during their time with them. In addition, they take on the responsibility of compensating the mentors naming for their time and expertise. The enterprises time in time also contributes to the training of teachers, ensuring they are equipped with the latest industry knowledge and skills. They cooperate also in the modernization/actualization of the curricula in different trade areas.
