Professional skills development and increasing employment in the wood processing sector in Kosovo

Between January and June 2025, Shehu Academy trained four groups of young people in the field of wood processing, with a special focus on CNC machine programming and operation. A total of 45 candidates participated in these trainings, of whom 20 were women, demonstrating our commitment to gender inclusion and the creation of equal opportunities in technical professions. All training groups conducted both theoretical and practical learning at the facilities of Shehu Academy, using modern equipment and technologies tailored to the needs of the sector. In addition to these groups, we also established a cooperation with the vocational school “Fehmi Lladrovci”, where a group of students attended practical training in the subject of mechatronics at our premises, enriching their knowledge through the practical application of technologies in wood processing. Our training programs include modules such as: Introduction to the woodworking profession, materials and work environment, artisan processing with hand tools, conventional methods using static machines, surface finishing and sanding, product design using CAD/CAM software, CNC programming and operation, assembly and on-site servicing, development of new products, use of modern materials, supervision of production processes, as well as administrative and commercial tasks in the woodworking sector.
